OmniROM releases nightlies for Android 4.4, details new features

The OmniROM development team announced the release of KitKat nightly builds for 15 of the most popular Android devices of the moment, and highlighted some of the new features of the custom ROMt.

OmniROM is a new custom ROM that aims to be a community-driven, feature-rich, and flexible implementation of Android. Some well-known developers are contributing to OmniROM, including Chainfire (SuperSU, Mobile ODIN Pro), Xplodwild (Focal, formally with Cyanogen), and Dees_Troy (TWRP).

The OmniROM team announced no fewer than 15 devices that already have nightly builds based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The team recently announced it will cease development of Android 4.3-based ROMs and focus fully on KitKat.

The following devices currently have KitKat nightlies:

    find5 (Oppo Find 5)
    flo (Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2013)
    grouper (Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2012)
    hammerhead (Nexus 5)
    i777 (Samsung Galaxy SII AT&T)
    i9100g (Samsung Galaxy SIIG)
    i9300 (Samsung Galaxy SIII)
    i9305 (Samsung Galaxy SIII LTE)
    mako (Nexus 4)
    n7000 (Samsung Galaxy Note)
    n7100 (Samsung Galaxy Note 2)
    t0lte (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE)
    t0lteatt (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE AT&T)
    t0ltetmo (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE T-Mobile US)
    tilapia (Nexus 7 3G 2012)

The new nightlies bring a bunch of features to OmniROM, including:

1. Non-intrusive incoming call notifications – instead of a full screen notification for answering phone calls, OmniROM will feature a card-like popup on the bottom of the screen that shows the caller and offers the option to decline or answer the call. In theory, this should allow you to continue what you were doing (browsing, gaming, etc.) without having to switch apps.
2. Advanced audio settings, including center frequency for bass boost and stereo widening
3. Improved ActiveDisplay
4.Permissions per apps

The OmniROM team promised more features are in the pipeline, as well as nightlies for more popular devices, including some from Sony and HTC.
