Depending on how you feel about both “the cloud” and Amazon in general, this deal might not be all that good to you but, free’s free. Now that 4G LTE is pretty accessible for the vast majority of us in the United States, cloud storage has quickly become a viable thing and there are more options than ever before. Amazon’s cloud drive however, is a pretty decent offering and for those of you that have a Kindle Fire or two in the family, it might be your preferred cloud storage option. Amazon is having another brilliant golden quarter, no doubt thanks to Black Friday but, they just keep on giving.

Amazon is now offering 50GB of free cloud storage with select Android smartphones. So, if you’re looking for an Android device to buy this year, whether it be a gift or for yourself, there’s now a little more incentive than before. Even if you were going to buy from Amazon anyway, this is a nice surprise. Devices such as the HTC One in Red, which is still just a penny on Sprint, Verizon’s Droid MAXX, the LG G2 on AT&T and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 on Sprint are all included in the offer. Once you’ve bought your Android smartphone of choice, the extra storage will be added to your Amazon cloud account and don’t forget that you do get 5GB for free, making it 55GB if you buy a certain smartphone. As far as cloud storage options go, there are better options out there but, the basic yet functional Android app works well and Amazon themselves have some pretty reliable servers.

This Holiday shopping season has seen Amazon discount some of the best smartphones down to practically nothing, with some of the offers such as the LG G2 down to a penny and offers of the Galaxy Note 3 still running.
