HTC One Max to arrive in mid-October

Ah yes, the HTC One Max. The device hasn’t been officially announced, yet alone reached shelves and yet we already feel like we know the smartphone so well. Needless to say, the device still needs to be announced by HTC before any of us looking to get our hands on a larger One will have a chance to buy one. We’ve been hearing quite a lot about the handset in the past month and so naturally, you’d think that an announcement were imminent, right?

Well, recently the device took a spin through TENAA, China’s equivalent of the FCC and gained certification for the region. Normally this isn’t something that we’d think twice about as the vast majority of smartphones going through TENAA are of course Chinese-only devices, however the One Max is probably going to be available in most parts of the world, just as the One was.

Not only has the device gotten the green light to go on sale in China, we’re also hearing that the device is to be announced sometime in October. With reports of October 15th and 17th coming in from different sources. October would make a lot of sense, any later and HTC might face problems getting the device onto US carriers to get enough buzz going for the holiday season. We expected to see the One Max before now but, with parts shortages effecting the One Mini, something similar could be holding back the One Max.
